Rod / Reel Cleaning?

What is the best way to clean a graphite rod with a handle that wind comes tape and reel spinning step. Also what will I need to clean these items?

If you fished in salt water or polluted water wheel I would get out and soak it in cold water to cool for about ten minutes - changing the water and do another ten .... wipe down the pole with a wet rag wringing it to get any chemicals or dirt off of it. Then I would wipe down the outside of the reel and maybe put a little grease inside where the bobbin goes - just then work a little long sometimes moves fat around ... wheel to remove most of water from her ... then I will reinstall it on the reel and put the bottom half of your rod upside down so any remaining water will drain away from your reel and drip on the ground ....
