Should I get a spincast or spinning reel?
I've been fishing for about 7 years, but I'm not very educated in conditions and gear.
Some bad advice for a new angler will begin with a baitcast reel. This is a sure road frustration and giving up sports. A spincast, or push-button, reel style reel is a good initial freshwater fishing, but they do not offer many features that drive open face spinning offer. A spinning reel is relatively easy to learn and become proficient with, given only a little practice. These are much more nimble than other types of rolling, and you can use them for a wide range of situations fishing. A good all-around starter gear will be a 6-ft medium action spinning rod with a matching spinning reel loaded with a good line 8 # test monofilament. Paste the moderate-priced, name brand to ensure appropriate treatment of quality. A group organized as it is also matched for everything, but larger (or smaller) freshwater fish.
